Things To Do in Taormina
Cable Car The Cable Car gives a magnificent view over Taormina, the Etna mountains and the Mediterranean coast line, both north and south. When the weather is clear you can also see Calabria. It goes between Via Pirandello, just 2 minutes walk from Messina Gate, and Lido Mazzaro by national road 114 to reach the beaches Baia delle Sirene and Isola Bella.

Beaches in Taormina Just by cable car, by wheel or by foot you can easily reach the beaches both north and south of Taormina in minutes. From Taromina city center you may also find ancient stairs going to Giardini-Naxos and north coast.
Capo Taormina The most extreme point is south of Isola Bella, where three mountains crosses their paths; Mount Grande 1374 m, Mount Veneretta 884 m and Mount Tauro 397 m. The cape divides Giardini Naxos and Isola Bella. Above lays Hotel Capo Taormina who offers a private sand beach by the seaside. Here you find the bright white Cave of Pigeons. The area is perfect for scuba diving.

Yearly Events
Taormina Film Festival is a historic film festival and one of the oldest. It began in 1955 under the name Rassegna Cinematografica Internazionale di Messina e Taormina. The festival moved permanently to Taormina in 1971, has hosted over the years many stars of international cinema. The Festival is an "A" festival in FIAP accreditation.
